A Kanji - A Day (29.05.08)

I'm a bit exicted since the fourth edition of Dungeons and Dragons will be released very soon (06.06.08). Nevertheless, I have to continue learning Japanese.


26. means "a mountain" and is read:

On-Yomi:

a)
サン (san), e.g. 火 (かざん) / a volcano

Kun-Yomi
:
b) やま (yama), e.g. 場 (やまば) / the climax, the peak, the crisis


27. means "four" and is read:

On-Yomi:

a)
(shi), e.g. 月 (がつ) / April

Kun-Yomi
:
b) よつ (yotsu), e.g. つ角 (よつかど) / a crossroads
c) よっつ (yottsu), e.g. つ (よっつ) / four
d) よん (yon), e.g. 輪駆動 (よんりんくどう) / 4WD


28. means "child", "kid", "baby" or "an infant" and is read:

On-Yomi:

a)
(shi), e.g. 午線 (ごせん) / the meridian
b) (su), e.g. 様 (よう) / appearances, a look, the situation, the state of things, circumstances

Kun-Yomi
:
c) (ko), e.g. 分 (ぶん) / a follower, a henchman, a following


29. means "thread", "yarn" or "string" and is read:

On-Yomi:

(shi), e.g. 一乱れず (いっみだれず) / in precise order, in perfect coordination

Kun-Yomi
:
b) いと (ito), e.g. 絹 (きぬいと) / silk thread


30. means "a character", "a letter", "writting" or "script" and is read:

On-Yomi:

(ji), e.g. 文 (も) / a character, a letter

Kun-Yomi
:
b) あざ (aza), e.g. あざ) / a section, a township
